More about us

As the mother of a child that struggled with literacy, I understand.

I understand what it’s like when your child is struggling to read. In our case, it was dyslexia, but in many cases, kids just didn’t get the structured literacy their brains need to read. The Science of Reading has proven that learning to read requires explicit and systematic instruction, which is just now making a comeback in some schools after nearly 30 years of other programs. My goal is to guide the parents of early and struggling readers by providing them with the tools they need to ensure literacy for their children.

Reading and Literacy Assessment

Let’s take a look and see what is going on with your kiddo. During this assessment we will take it back to the beginning and find out exactly where your child is struggling. Sometimes the math doesn’t work out with phonemes, sometimes it’s something deeper.

No matter what is going on, this assessment will help Krista determine where your kiddo is on their literacy journey.

What Do I Know About Reading and Literacy?

I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach for students with and without dyslexia.

I am pursuing my Masters of Science in Education (MEd) with a focus on Reading and Literacy via Bay Path University. Bay Path is accredited via the International Dyslexia Association and the Orton-Gillingham Academy because of their strenuous Structured Literacy program. Their program includes a practicum for Orton-Gillingham for which I will earn my Associates level certification via the Orton-Gillingham Academy.
